The 4th New Year’s Eve Countdown Celebration in Penang organized by CreatiVision
About 100,000 revelers rocked to the beat at the ‘PG2009 Rock The Fort – The New Year’s Eve Countdown Concert at the Esplanade to mark the New Year. The crowd thronged the popular seafront promenade from as early as 5pm and by 10pm, the Esplanade field was filled to the brim as crowd clapped, whistled and sang along usher in 2009.
The five-hour non-stop ‘clean’ live rock band music was a reflection of the multiracial colors of Malaysia. The veteran rockers May was the first to take the stage while other group like The Villanz, Malito and Sofaz had the crowd stomping to the beat of ‘We Will Rock You’. However, the night belonged to the Queen of Rock, ELLA, who mesmerized her fans with her husky vocals coupled with trademark rock style.
Highlight of the night was the six minute firework display which illuminated the sky with brilliant colors. 1 & 2 January 2008.
